1 - Wednesday featured London zoo (a freezing concrete jungle with underwhelming enclosures) - it was impossible not to feel sorry for the few animals that were there. The NZ$40 entry fee didn't really help :/ However, the walk through Regent's Park was well worth the effort

9 - The Imperial War Museum was vastly more worthwhile, featuring the usual machines of war (P51 Mustang, a Spitfire, an FW190, bits of a Lancaster, a V2 rocket, and various tanks and things). The Holocaust display was harrowing, and left me feeling pretty miserable for most of the next day... hmmm...
